  Lovely Victorian ambiance, with a generous continental breakfast The beds were mediocre though inspite of them looking comfortable.The street was noisy outside as well as the air-conditioner so we didn't sleep well although the breakfast compensated somewhat.

  We stayed for one night at the Scotsman's Inn on our way to Cape Breton. The hosts, Sandy and Kathy, gave us a warm welcome and took us in late in the evening. The room was very clean and quiet and we had a lovely home made breakfast with Scottish treats. They also gave us lots of tips of what to do and where to go and even helped us book our next accomodation. We really appreciated the time they took to share experiences with us. We would highly recommend staying here!

  When I travel I want experiences and not generic hotel rooms. Sandy and Kathy were consummate hosts and provided a great experience for us on our first trip to Nova Scotia. I highly recommend a stay at The Scotsman Inn!!

  Owners are very accommodating. We especially enjoyed our chats with them and enjoyed meeting the parrot. The hotel is walking distance to the waterfront. Be aware, this is a historic building and there is no elevator. It is not handicapped accessible, and there is no air conditioning. It is charming, and provides clean accommodations, but not a four-star hotel.
